Smoke Detectors
Buy a smoke detector and sleep soundly. That’s fine as long as it works. How can you ensure it works? Well you can press the red button that most have but that doesn’t guarantee it’s going to work with smoke. You can test them with smoke but it’s a habit of staining the detector and ceiling. My personal advice being someone who once upon a time maintained smoke detector systems is to use a minimum of two detectors and test them regularly by fitting them in the kitchen. If they don’t go off when dinner is ready there’s a problem.
